





Beginners Roman Blind Class
Embark on a creative journey with our workshop dedicated to making lined Roman blinds! This course is designed for beginners eager to learn the essential techniques and skills needed to create functional and stylish window treatments. Over the course of one day, you will gain hands-on experience with various materials and tools, enabling you to craft beautiful lined Roman blinds that will enhance any room in your home.
Workshop Summary:
- Overview of Tools and Equipment: Familiarise yourself with essential tools such as sewing machines, fabric scissors, measuring tapes, and rotary cutters, as well as materials including fabric, lining, and Roman blind hardware (like rods and cords). Fabrics, tracks and accessories will be supplied by us.
- Measuring for Roman Blinds: Learn how to accurately measure your window space to determine the correct dimensions for your blinds, ensuring a perfect fit.
- Cutting Fabric and Lining: Understand techniques for cutting both the main fabric and lining to the correct sizes, while considering fabric grain and patterns for a cohesive look.
- Sewing Techniques: Gain hands-on experience with basic sewing techniques, including straight stitching and hemming, to construct the blind panels and attach the lining.
- Creating the Blind Mechanism: Master the method of installing the Roman blind hardware, including how to attach the cords and ensure smooth operation for raising and lowering the blinds.
- Finishing Touches: Learn tips for adding finishing touches, such as weights at the bottom for better drape and decorative elements to enhance the overall aesthetic.
- Installation Guidance: Receive expert advice on how to properly install your finished Roman blinds in your window space for a polished look.

Teas coffees, refreshments and cakes will be provided. Student should bring their own lunches. Workshops will run from 10 am to 4 pm.
Please note you will be expected to bring your own domestic machine. If you are unable to use a sewing machine, we will expect you to the hand stitching and will do the machine work for you on our industrial machines.

Attendance & Requirements:
Our workshops are available exclusively for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Please contact us at asabove3@gmail.com to check if a younger participant can attend. It is recommended that participants arrive at the workshop location 5 minutes prior to the start time to allow sufficient time for preparation and relaxation.
Change in Workshop Dates due to insufficient bookings:
If a minimum number of 6 students do not book onto a course we reserve the right to rearrange the workshop date to fit numbers less than 6 onto the one workshop. This will be done at least 10 days prior to a booking and the date will be organised to suit all participants. If an alternative and satisfactory date cannot be offered a full refund will be provided.
Payment and Booking:
All workshop bookings must be paid in full prior to the start of the workshop to secure the reservation.
Cancellation Policy:
In the event of a cancellation, notice must be provided to us no later than 10 days prior to the scheduled workshop date in order to reschedule the booking. If notice is not given within 10 days or if the participant fails to attend the workshop, the full workshop fee will be charged.
A change in the workshop date may be requested with notice given no later than 10 days prior to the scheduled workshop date.
Whilst we will do our best to accommodate change requests, we cannot be guaranteed due to the limited availability of our small space. In the event that a change cannot be accommodated, the original workshop date will be honoured and follow our standard cancellation policy as detailed above.
If a participant is more than 10 minutes late, the workshop will commence and will be considered redeemed.
