Advanced Curtain Making Classes
Join us for an advanced workshop dedicated to mastering the art of making interlined pinched pleat curtains! Designed for those who have completed the pencil tape lined course and are ready to elevate their sewing skills, this workshop will delve into the techniques and materials needed to create luxurious, tailored curtains. Over the course of one day, you will gain hands-on experience and expert instruction to craft stunning interlined pinched pleat curtains that will enhance the elegance of any space.
Workshop Summary:
- Advanced Tools and Equipment Overview: Familiarise yourself with specialised tools such as heavy-duty sewing machines, and pleating boards, as well as materials like drapery fabric, interlining, and pinched pleat tape. Curtain will include one width of fabric and we supply all fabrics and accessories.
- Precision Measuring and Planning: Learn advanced techniques for measuring window dimensions and calculating fabric quantities to ensure your curtains fit perfectly and achieve a professional look.
- Cutting Techniques: Understand the best practices for cutting both the outer fabric and interlining, focusing on grain direction and pattern matching for a seamless appearance.
- Interlining Application: Master the process of attaching interlining to the main fabric, enhancing the curtain’s body, insulation, and light-blocking capabilities while keeping the pleats crisp.
- Pinched Pleat Construction: Gain hands-on experience in creating pinched pleats, learning to achieve precise pleat depth and spacing that adds a tailored, sophisticated touch to your curtains.

Tea, coffee, refreshments and cakes will be supplied. Student should bring their own lunch. Classes will run from 10 am to 4 pm.
Please note you will be expected to bring your own domestic machine. Experience in using a domestic machine is a prerequisite to the course.

Attendance & Requirements:
Our workshops are available exclusively for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Please contact us at asabove3@gmail.com to check if a younger participant can attend. It is recommended that participants arrive at the workshop location 5 minutes prior to the start time to allow sufficient time for preparation and relaxation.
Change in Workshop Dates due to insufficient bookings:
If a minimum number of 6 students do not book onto a course we reserve the right to rearrange the workshop date to fit numbers less than 6 onto the one workshop. This will be done at least 10 days prior to a booking and the date will be organised to suit all participants. If an alternative and satisfactory date cannot be offered a full refund will be provided.
Payment and Booking:
All workshop bookings must be paid in full prior to the start of the workshop to secure the reservation.
Cancellation Policy:
In the event of a cancellation, notice must be provided to us no later than 10 days prior to the scheduled workshop date in order to reschedule the booking. If notice is not given within 10 days or if the participant fails to attend the workshop, the full workshop fee will be charged.
A change in the workshop date may be requested with notice given no later than 10 days prior to the scheduled workshop date.
Whilst we will do our best to accommodate change requests, we cannot be guaranteed due to the limited availability of our small space. In the event that a change cannot be accommodated, the original workshop date will be honoured and follow our standard cancellation policy as detailed above.
If a participant is more than 10 minutes late, the workshop will commence and will be considered redeemed.
If last-minute attendance is not possible, please email us at asabove3@gmail.com. Any decision to offer an alternative arrangement will be at our discretion.
Private Workshops:
Private workshops are available for special events and celebrations. To request a private workshop, please contact us at asabove3@gmail.com. Private workshop bookings start at a minimum of 6 attendees.
Gift Vouchers:
Gift vouchers are available for purchase and are redeemable for any of our workshop experiences that are ran directly by us. They are redeemable for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase.
